I've also posted a couple of blogs on the Amazon website, re O'Reilly's book :
"We are approaching the 50th anniversary of the JFK assassination.
The current Mayor of Dallas has been the public face of the Dallas Establishment that wants to keep any conspiracy groups out of the commemoration in Dealy Plaza.
Talks are continuing on this issue.
Dealy Plaza is a public park, and access to it should be open to the public.
Bill O'Reilly and his co-writer, researcher, Martin Dugard, would likely favor the Mayor's position on this issue.
Taken to its' extreme, the Dallas Mayor's position could demand that anyone wanting to attend the commemoration at Dealy Plaza would have to wear an O'Reilly mask, and carry his Killing Kennedy book.
I can imagine a young child there asking his/her parents who JFK was; who is O'Reilly; and could we all wear Justin Bieber masks?
The JFK assassination continues to be very important.
The focus should be on why he was murdered; and what the short- and long-term consequences were of this murder?
One consequence is the Vietnam war.
The issue is resolved; the historical evidence is overwhelming that JFK would not have sent in 500K + ground troops into Indochina.
If one cannot go to Dallas in November, then an alternative way to commemorate the JFK murder is to go to DC, and visit the Veterans Vietnam wall.
This wall has over 54K names of the US soldiers that died in Nam. The names are arranged by date of death and then alphabetically.
Then go to JFK's grave, with the eternity flame.
The Vietnam wall and the grave are linked; if the grave was not there, the wall would not exist.
O'Reilly can take the Killing Kennedy readers on a historical journey that is misleading, inaccurate and dangerous.
He can take his readers down a worthless rabbit hole following Oswald, a low-level US intelligence contract player.
He can tell the readers to accept the Warren Commission as the final word on the JFK murder.
O'Reilly is a Rip Van Winkle who ignores the good research of the last 49 years.
The Warren Commission's 27 volumns should be put into a large shredder; and the shreds should be dumped into O'Reilly's spin zone. Being a tall dude, O'Reilly would still be able to be seen.
I have been a part-time Kennedy assassination researcher for decades.
It is not an obsession but of personal and academic interest.
My suggestion re shredding the Warren Commission volumes was an attempt to deal with O'Reilly's dangerous recommendation to readers of Killing Kennedy to rely on the Commission for an explanation of the assassination.
It was made in jest; and the joke will not be used by Maher, Stewart, and any other media comedian.
I'm not a book-burner...just don't take the Warren report as a serious explanation of what happened in Dealy Plaza.
As we approach the 50th anniversary of the assassination, the O'Reilly book will be used to divert attention. It will allow those who want to continue the cover-up to claim that O'Reilly/Dugart is the final word.
O'Reilly takes the readers down a rabbit hole, following Oswald as the alleged assassination.
Oswald was not a communist, or a pro-Castro leftist.
He was also not unemployed during the 1963 Summer in New Orleans.
He was a low-level US intelligence contract player.
He was getting small checks from the FBI, Guy Bannister, the CIA, and possibly the Office of Naval Intelligence.
He had at least 12 different intelligence handlers, bosses, during the 1959-63 period.
The tracks of intelligence were so deeply imbedded all over his body, even laser surgery and a dozen plastic surgeries wouldn't have erased the tracks.
He was involved in a bizarre bio-weapon research project during the New Orleans '63 Summer. He, and his young naive girlfriend, Judyth Baker (see Lee and Me), worked on developing a cancer-causing virus, first experimenting with mice, then transferring the virus to monkeys, then to a human mental hospital patient. When the virus seemed to be working, it was Oswald's role to get this virus bio-weapon to a contact in Mexico City, who would then get it to a doctor on Castro's medical team to assassinate the bearded one. The contact never showed in Mexico. It was another CIA project against the bearded one that failed.
Oswald was a fake defector to the Soviet Union, part of a small CIA project in the late 50ies. The project attempted to get several young men, pretending to be defectors, into the Soviet Union for spying information.
In summary, Oswald was mucking around with a boiling stew of anti-Castro Cubans, CIA contract players, the neo-fascist Guy Bannister and the Mob. He was a naive kid, somewhat bonkers, who was in over his head.
There is also evidence that he sent a certified letter to FBI's Hoover, warning that JFK was going to be killed in Dallas. This kid tried to prevent the "big event."
The "big event" was the assassination in the kill zone of Dealy PLaza.
The Dealy Plaza magic trick was planned by elements of the boiling stew of the Mob, spooks, likely Texas industrialists (the regional arm of the military-industrial-intelligence).
Security was withdrawn from the Kennedy motorcade.
The route included an unexplainable left turn onto Elm, into the Dealy Plaza kill zone.
Dallas motorcyle cops were pulled away from the JFK limo.
The press car, normally to be in front of the Pres. limo, was placed at the end, preventing the press and photographers from witnessing the shooting.
The Secret Service was pulled back. Instead of having a SS agent on the back of the JFK limo, one protecting JFK and the other Jackie, they were in the follow-up car. Clint Hill was the only SS agent that reacted during the shooting (actually after the shots). He was Jackie's protector, not JFK's.
The windows of the tall buildings in Dealy PLaza/Elm St. were not sealed (this was before the modern air-conditioned buildings that windows cannot be opened).
SS or military protectors were not on the buildings' roofs.
Before this motorcade took place, JFK and his two Boston political pals, Dave Powers and Kenny O'Donnell should have become aware of something unusual taking place.
When the parade route was changed within 48 hours before the motorcade, JFK should have called Bobby, described the situation, and Bobby's instincts would have told JFK to get out of the killing zone.
In spite of O'Reilly's dangerous rendering of the Dealy PLaza murder, it was a military-type triangulation of fire....with a rifle team likely in the Book depository, the next door Dal-Tex building, and behind the fence above the grassy knoll.
Finally, the historical question on whether JFK would have approved sending 500K ground troops into Indochina is the super issue.
He would NOT have done that.
By the 63 Summer, he was alone among his national security team in opposing expanding our role in Indochina.
And this was one of the major reasons he was murdered.
I say again, the historical record is clear on this issue.
The Veterans Vietnam wall in DC is linked to JFK's grave at Arlington.
If the grave was not there, if JFK had lived for a second term, the Vietnam wall was not have been necessary.
